(AEI) was established in 1958 when we introduced our first aircraft cargo conversion. Over the years AEI has developed STC's for the passenger to freighter conversion of many aircraft, including CV240-CV540 Convair's, Lockheed L188 Electras' and L1011, McDonnell Douglas DC8's, Boeing B727-100, B727-200, B737-200, B737-300, B737-400's. Aircraft operating with AEI cargo doors are in service throughout the world and operated by major air freight companies.


AEI's B737-400 passenger to freighter conversion can accomodate ten (10) 88"x125" pallet positions. AEI's B737-300 passenger to freighter conversion is unique to the market, in that it has nine (9) 88"x125" pallet positions. (others only have 8 full pallet positions). The cargo conversion includes the installation of a cargo door, class E cargo compartment, smoke detection system, rigid 9g barrier, and a cargo handling system. Click here for more information

AEI's B727-200 passenger to freighter conversion is the leading B727-200 cargo conversion program, the first aircraft converted was 1994, and since over 170 aircraft have been modified. The cargo conversion includes the installation of a cargo door, class E cargo compartment, smoke detection system, 9g barrier, and a cargo handling system.  After modification the aircraft can carry twelve (12) 88”x125” containers or optionally twelve (12) 88”x108”  containers.
